Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12, where a methyl group replaces cyanide. It features an octahedral cobalt(III) center and can be obtained as bright red crystals. Notable for containing metal-alkyl bonds, it is physiologically equivalent to vitamin B12. Methylcobalamin is used to treat conditions from vitamin B12 deficiency, including pernicious anemia, peripheral neuropathy, and diabetic neuropathy, and as an initial treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Protoporphyrin IX (Standard) serves as an analytical reference standard for diverse research and analytical applications. It functions as a key intermediate in the heme biosynthetic pathway, acting as both a radiation sensitizer-boosting reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and inducing DNA damage even in hypoxic states-and a photosensitizer, undergoing photobleaching upon light exposure.
- Enhances ROS generation and induces DNA damage.
- Undergoes photobleaching through direct degradation by light irradiation.
- Accumulates in tumor cells after 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) administration.
- Causes selective improvement of basal cell carcinoma when activated by red fluorescence.
- Promising for research into sonodynamic and photodynamic agents for various cancers.
- Used in qualitative, quantitative, and methodological research experiments.
- Ideal for applications in HPLC, GC, and MS.

Potent and selective inhibitor of heme oxygenase (Ki=3nM), the enzyme that generates carbon monoxide (CO). Inhibits soluble guanylyl cyclase. Produces a time- and concentration-dependent inactivation of all three isoforms of nitric oxide synthase (IC50=0.8µM, 4.0µM, and 5.0µM for nNOS (NOS I), iNOS (NOS II) and eNOS (NOS III), respectively). Does not cross the blood-brain barrier. An useful tool to elucidate the role of CO in signal transduction and as a neurotransmitter. Purity: ≥95% (TLC). Appearance: Dark solid. Solubility: Soluble in pyridine, dimethyl formamide or DMSO. Colloidal in aqueous base; slightly soluble in aqueous base/organic solvent mixtures. Long Term Storage: -20°C.
